Dropping Into Essence
WARNING: Folks with a history of mental illness, trauma, or panic are urged not to use these techniques without a trained energy therapist. If you decide to do these processes you will agree to absolve the webmaster, his server, and Steve Mensing of any responsibility for the application or misapplication of these processes. Although there are many safety features built into these processes and they have been tested and evaluated, there is always in any process the fraction of possibility that someone could experience some discomfort. So proceed with this warning.
Dropping into Essence (D.I.E.)is based on a simple, yet profound method for emotional growth. This method has been called releasing, letting go, and the Sedona Method and is a conscious application of our natural way of dropping emotional stress and achieving spontantaneous states of essence and clarity. D.I.E. pays hommage to Lester Levinson's simple and outstanding Sedona Method for releasing feelings. D.I.E. takes dropping over a new trail. Here we will pay attention to separation, perceptual shifting, unlabeling, and of course dropping. As with many Emoclear approaches you will find circular breathing (Kriya Yoga). Other energy applications are the Medulla UN Hold (Devi Nambudripad) for altering energy flow and creating a solid focus, Central Meridian Tracing (kineasiology)for removing energy blockages. The short form of D.I.E. may be performed anywhere without drawing attention to yourself. You can share your essence with others on the bus, train, or subway!
DROPPING INTO ESSENCE (D.I.E.) (1) MEDULLA UN HOLD: This process is for correcting neurological disorganization and is used only once during a D.I.E. process. Place palm across occipital buldge on the lower rear of your head (fingers pointing toward ear). Insert two fingers from remaining hand into the indent under your nose and press firmly. Keep this position for two minutes. (Unrequired in short form).
(2) BEGIN CIRCULAR BREATHING: Do circular breathing the entire duration of D.I.E. The circular breathing connects the inhale with the exhale in a slow comfortable fashion. Exhale is relaxed with no control at all. If the inhale comes via the nose then the exhale should exit the nose. If the inhale comes through the mouth then the exhale must travel out the mouth. Exhale and inhale need not be the same duration. In short don't stop at the top of the breath or at the bottom. Breathing is one continuous loop. (Some will feel a momentary stop--a split second between going and coming--that's okay).
People with panic or severe traumas--keep your circular breathing slow and comfortable.
(3) CENTRAL LINE TRACE: With your palm just touching your skin, start from the very center of the top of your head and gently pass down the center line of your body to your groin. Do this slowly for 3 repetitions. This will get a good downward flow for you to assist with your dropping.
(4) TUNE IN: Ask your unconscious for a feeling to drop. Tune in fully to your feeling and allow it to be there and grow. Permitting it to be there is very important--do not push it away or try to cling to it. Let it percolate. You may imagine or reexperience any situation be it positive, negative, or neutral. Picture it. Hear it. Feel it. (It's okay if the feeling drops during this or any other step--this will often occur spontaniously as you grow more experinced with D.I.E.)
(5) NAME YOUR FEELING: Call it Up Energy--Down Energy--or Neutral Energy. Any of these energies can be positive or negative. No splitting hairs here--no perfection required. If you don't know what to call your feeling, then call it Energy.
(6) FULLY EXPERIENCE YOUR NAMED ENERGY: Allow yourself to fully feel your Up Energy, Down Energy, Neutral Energy, or just plain Energy. Allow it to be--let go of forcing it away or clinging to it.
(7) NOTICE THE SEPARATION: Gently shift your attention to the subtle separation between your sense of being and your felt sense of your Up Energy--Down Energy--Neutral Energy. Notice how this subtle separation is there and may even be growing. You...and this named energy. Spend a few moments here. Don't be alarmed if you suddenly drop the feeling either a little or a lot.
(8) SEPARATION SHIFT or EXPAND/SHRINK: Choose either the Separation Shift or the Expand/Shrink exercise.
In the Separation Shift you simply bring your attention slowly back and forth between your sense of self and your named energy. Do this 2 or 3 times, then go directly to step (9).
With the Expand/Shrink exercise you simply allow your named energy to expand with your inhale and shrink with your exhale. Do this for 3 repetitions and then go directly to step (9)
(9) REMOVE ENERGY NAME: Remove your Up Energy, Down Energy, Neutral Energy, or just Energy names. Even remove the labels energy or feeling. Allow whatever is left to be there. No forcing it away or clinging to it. Remove any labels that pop up. Just experience what is left if anything.
(10) IS IT OKAY TO DROP THE REMAINING FELT SENSE: Ask your remaining felt sense if it's okay to drop it. Pay close attention to the responce. If it answers "no", you may simply wait until it is ready with no intention of getting rid of it. Five gentle taps on your solar plexus can provide an open doorway down for a drop. Just let the felt sense be there until it's ready.
(11) DROP IT: Simply experience your felt sense dropping it. Either allow it to drop all at once or a little bit at a time. Your unconscious knows what's best for you. As you drop more and more feelings or when you experience a very profound drop over a core issue--you will notice that you are in essence. This is a very clear and powerful state where you are very present and feel part of the energy around you. Essence has many flavors such as love, wholeness, serenity, power, and security. You will find your original feelings have flipped over into their opposites. Often these opposites become profound essence in the above named flavors. These flavors leave us a resource that remains as a beacon to our feelings in similar situations. As you drop more and more you will experience the spontaneous dropping of numerous feelings and trances. One feeling after another begins to release in a seemless tube. Dreaming often occurs to more experienced droppers. You will be clearing large amounts of material during these experinces
(12) REPEAT IF REQUIRED: Continue to repeat the sequences until your feelings have transformed into their opposites. Essence comes with relaxed repition.

TIPS ON DROPPING INTO ESSENCE
* Grasp a coin in your hand tightly, then let it drop. Do this several times and you will know the primary experience of dropping. Remind yourself of what dropping feels like--do this coin dropping before each time you D.I.E.
*After you've mastered the 12 steps of D.I.E., you may employ D.I.E.'s short form. (1) Tune in. (2)Name Your Feeling. (3) Fully experience your named energy. (4) Notice the separation. (5) Separation shift or expand/contract. (6)Remove Name. (7) Is it okay to drop the remaining felt sense. (8) Drop it. The short form works--it doesn't provide the power of the energy work. However you'll be less self-conscious about doing this in a public place.
* Always hydrate yourself when your doing any Emoclear processes.
* After you've learned D.I.E. you will often experience spontaneous dropping. You are more conscious when it's occuring.
* Laughing, crying, sighing, burping, yawning are all forms of natural dropping.
* You may drop on wanting to drop--this is an old releaser's trick.
*After you've gotten the drop on dropping, you may want to get fancy and drop opposite feelings at the same time. What two Competing feelings? Opposites? Yup! Simply put them into a ying/yang type symbol and feel them. Call em up/down energy. They will take you to some amazing drops. Imperturbabilityville and beyond!
*When dropping feelings becomes second nature, you may want to drop Levenson's "wants". Many challenges in life are rooted in wanting (any good Buddhist will tell you that) Levenson spoke about (1) Wanting approval. (2) Wanting Control. (3) Wanting security/survival. With these wants we create the illusion that these elements reside outside us. Dropping these wants and discover real quick that you have it all!
* At first wholeness is rare for droppers, yet as time goes on and you become more proficient, dropping leading to wholeness and imperturbability becomes the norm. At the outset we discharge negative energy and in turn we feel more positively, energetic, and relaxed. After some practice we automatically drop on cue. Heck imagine it now--Mr. Big is yelling at us at our job at the Mad Cow Steakhouse and we're dropping on his every sentence. Nothing bothers us. We're in Nirbanna and the cashregister is ringing up a mile a minute. "You're fired" becomes the doorway to imperturbability!
* Daily set some time aside to do some dropping. A lot can get accomplished that way and you'll be setting the groundwork for a useful habit.
* Be prepared to do some dropping a few times on a feeling. Clear it all out. Remember: Let it be there--nature will take care of the rest.
*Bio-circuits and Ganzfeld goggles can really amp up short form dropping. (Don't do this in the breakroom at work--or you'll be reffered to an EAP)
* Be prepared for feeling that won't drop at first. Drop on the stuckness or frustration or the feelings around--I can't do this I'm different.
*Be nonjudgemental about your feelings--be willing to experience them or not to experience them. Feelings come and go.
* Bring your feelings of emptyness into the dropping process-- you'll be amazed at what happens.
* If you question your ability to drop something. Recall that you've likely laughed, cried, burped, or yawned. You've dropped lots of stuff in your life.
* If you experience impatience, I can't stand it-itis, this is too much--this is grist for the dropping mill.
* Check out your present feelings for any of Levanson's 3 big wants: approval, control, and security/survival.
* Check out the Personality Clusters on this board in Target's for Tech.
* Wanting not to want and wanting impertubability or essence or Satori can be targets for dropping.
* Physical healing can be a prime target for dropping. Focus on ill sensations/pain/fever and allow yourself to really feel them. Call them Sick Energy. Or even Sickergy. Can you imagine a nurse saying to her patient: "I hope you D.I.E."
*Feelings can often be brought up by intense music--classical music often fills this bill. Some oldies can bring up anchored stuff.
* If you're really belted by panic or trauma when dropping, you may want to jack in a Meridian Grasp.
